Good lighting sets the right mood

With so many new homes (and remodeled ones) full of recessed light fixtures I feel it’s time for the Chandelier come-back. With so many great choices made of different materials, chandeliers are the new way to help define your style direction. When I remodeled my place last year, I went wild with a chandelier in every room. After going through a small re-furnishing phase to make everything round and child friendly (Harper is on the verge of crawling) I decided to switch out a chandelier here and there to give a few rooms a completely different look. Here are a few that I fell for:

Baker Furniture’s signature chandelier made of clear murano glass infused with 24k gold leaf

Currently on sale at Pottery Barn, this is a great option to the Baker one - just add some shades (and at a great price!)

Talk about jewelry for your home - this Turquoise Chandelier would make a statement in any room. Available at http://www.marjorieskourasdesign.com

I love this modern take on traditional elements. For over a pool table or dining room table. http://www.hammerton.com

This fixture from Jonathan Adler has a simplicity that won me over. It is being installed in my dining room today

I found this looking through a European design magazine. The green shades are brilliant - it’s called Mediterraneo’s Delfo Pendant

For an entry, dining room, breakfast room or powder room. This fixture works with any style direction and cast a nice glow setting a dramatic mood

I am in love with this honeycomb chandelier. It will definitely a place in one of my future projects. Although it has a gothic quality to it, the unique shape has a glamorous appeal.  Available at http://www.marjorieskourasdesign.com
